Consumer Product Development — Valeria Premiums (Hummel License)
As a freelance Product Design Engineer, I worked with Valeria Premiums, license holder for Hummel in India, to develop two product themes—Sports and Bee—across multiple SKUs including caps, socks, and bottles. My role involved end-to-end product development, from brand translation and technical design to supplier coordination and manufacturability assessment, ensuring all products met Hummel’s global design standards and were optimized for regional production.
Scope of Work:
Brand Identity Translation & Theme Development
Developed two cohesive product lines—a sports-themed line with bold, energetic visuals and a lifestyle "bee" theme with a softer, aesthetic appeal. Defined Pantone color maps, logo placements, and material choices for each SKU to maintain visual consistency and brand integrity across all products.Caps Design Execution
Designed multiple cap variants in both 6-panel and trucker styles, selecting material combinations (dry-fit, cotton, mesh) and coordinating branding placement, color schemes, and adjustable strap systems. Products such as WELK, CLARET, JET, and FLEX were officially launched in the 2023 Hummel India catalog.Socks Design & Technical Refinement
Led design and iterative feedback for multiple sock SKUs, defining stripe designs, logo placements, Pantone codes, and fiber composition. Provided detailed feedback on sample batches to ensure accuracy in patterning and logo execution. Sock designs including FROST, ZAMII, VAULT, and DROPLET were released in the 2023 product catalog.Drinkware Line (In Pipeline)
Designed 20+ water bottle SKUs across various models (e.g., Sarang 600, Go Pro 750, Eureka 1000), specifying surface finishes (powder coat, spray), Pantone-coded colorways, and logo applications. These designs were approved and are currently in the production pipeline for future market launch.Manufacturability & Sample Coordination
Worked directly with suppliers and sample teams, aligning design intent with tooling capabilities. Delivered SKU-wise sample lists, technical specifications, and production guidance documents, ensuring efficient sample approval cycles and design scalability.
This project allowed me to lead multi-SKU product development from concept through sampling, managing brand alignment, design for manufacture, and launch-readiness across diverse product categories.
